The brand is Esta, made in the USA by Triangle Optical Company of Pittsburgh, PA, probably in the 1920s. The bridges come with nose pads made of either bone or shell. The bridges are available in three sizes, 18mm, 22mm or 24mm. Only available with cable temples (as shown).Bridges and temples are made of 1/10 12k yellow gold or white gold fill; this means that 4.5% of the frame is made of pure gold. Because standards for gold fill were much more stringent in the old days, these frames contain more than ten times the amount of pure gold as gold fill frames made today. For example, the gold fill frames in the eyeglasses.com round collection have less than 1/100 14k gold, with one micron of 22k gold electroplate.
